Letter from the Chief
Executive Officer and the Chairman of the Board
Highmark can be
likened to the central nervous system of the health care delivery
process; the nexus through which all of the participants connect.
Physicians, hospitals, individuals, government agencies – even other
insurers – interact through Highmark using one or more of the many
services
we provide. Our purpose, in large measure, is to maintain a network
of healthy connections among
all of these groups – and we believe that we accomplished this
purpose very effectively in 2000. |
